Month of the Hedgehog
Believe it or not, there’s a call in Burleson’s called Hedgehog Love. You could use it this month.

Guglielmo Marconi invented the radio.
Feature songs about radios: “Turn Your Radio On”, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong with the Radio”, etc.
Who the heck is Flossie Beadle? A search on Google reveals more pages listing Flossie Beadle Week than pages even mentioning Flossie Beadle herself. I found two:
From all this, we can surmise that Flossie lived in Southern California inland from San Diego, and that she was interested in preserving old buildings related to transportation (a train depot and a boathouse).
So train, boat, and old building songs would be appropriate.
Bill Monroe is known as the \”father of bluegrass music\”.
Celebrate by playing nothing but bluegrass. Monroe\’s known for singng \”Blue Moon of Kentucky,\” among other songs.
Relevant Records
This is a no-brainer; there are enough country music square dance singing calls to fill up the whole month.
Could break out your magic songs, including Old Black Magic…or maybe something like I Feel Lucky, since this is the day to defy superstition.
Relevant Records
I can’t think of any square dance relevance, but it seemed like such a weird thing to have a special day for that I had to list it. I suppose you could do Chuck Berry records, but that’s a real stretch.
Look for records featuring solo saxophones. Does anyone categorize their records by lead instruments?
