Bronc's been in Europe for a while, and his efforts to get back this week have fallen prey to the vicissitudes of modern air travel...meaning cancelled and overbooked flights. Bottom line: He's not going to make it home to Albuqerque in time to call a dance Saturday night. Bronc apologizes for any inconvenience.
State Festival May 15-17
Dancers and callers from around New Mexico will be converging on the square dance center for the annual New Mexico Square and Round Dance Association Festival. It's a great chance to visit with square dancers from New Mexico and beyond, and to dance to all the great callers from New Mexico. You won't want to miss it. Marshall Flippo March 13
We got a great laugh out of Marshall when Joey and Larada showed up in hospital garb (Flippo-style) to commemorate last year's visit when Marshall was too sick to call. No problems this year--Marshall was in great form, and Albuquerque dancers filled the hall.
Dance for the Pets March 28
The dance was a great success, with square dancers and other dancers participating all day. Four dogs found forever homes, and over $1500 was raised for Watermelon Ranch.
Saturday Night Dance with Art
Art Tangen's back in town and will be hosting a Saturday night floor-level Plus dance every first and third Saturday starting February 16, 2008. The dance will be from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, and will cost $4 per person. For more information, give Art a call: 508-1668. Here's a flyer: PDF Flyer.

The ASDC is located at 4909-15 Hawkins NE (505-345-9797), one full block west of I-25, 1/2 block north of Ellison. Take the Ellison/San Antonio exit of highway, go west (away from Sandia mountains). Turn north (right) at the first intersection past the motels. This is Hawkins.
The Albuquerque Square Dance Center is a wonderful dance facility built by
square dancers for square dancers. Featuring two dance halls with great acoustics
and beautiful floating hardwood floors, the ASDC is used by multiple square
dance clubs, so there's a square dance happening almost every night of the week.
Learn to Square Dance!
You can learn to square dance at the Albuquerque Square Dance Center. Why
learn? Because square dancing is fun! Also, you get physical exercise, mental
exercise, and social contact: all important to your health. But the most important
thing is it's fun! It's a chance to laugh and fool around...and learn something
new at the same time. Once you've learned the square dance language, you can go
anywhere there's square dancing and join in...it's a worldwide activity.
